Apply Now: How to Get Started

All applicants are required to apply using SSAT's Standard Application Online (SAO) by first creating an online account at www.ssat.org. The SAO simplifies the process by allowing you to fill out one application and obtain one set of teacher recommendations/ transcripts which can be used to apply to other SSAT member schools. Solebury School’s code number for the SAO is 7390. You will be able to self‐track all admission documents and view the status of your application.

The required items will need to be completed on the SAO online application:
  • The application, including the nonrefundable application fee
  • Your personal statements
  • Parental Questionnaire
  • Our Preliminary Health Report, which can be found as the supplemental item on the SAO
  • The required school recommendation forms, which can be sent via your online SSAT account to your current school administrator/counselor, English, and Math teacher
  • The last three years of your school report cards (the previous two years, plus the current year’s grades to date), and/or transcript which should be uploaded to the SAO
Please note: If your child has received professional counseling within the last year, please fill out the Mental Health Provider Report (PDF) and return by mail to:

Testing Requirements

TOEFL test scores should be submitted directly to our school from the testing center using the TOEFL code: 9695

International students do not have to take the SSAT but are required to submit other testing as noted below:

  • 9th and 10th grade applicants must submit a TOEFL, TOEFL Junior, IELTS or ISEE.
  • All 11th and 12th grade applicants must submit a TOEFL or IELTS score

Interviews

Each applicant must submit a video where they answer several questions. This can be submitted on a DVD or you may post it on YouTube and provide us with the link. This will be used as your admissions interview. You should answer the following questions:

  • What academic subject is your favorite and why?
  • Discuss a book you recently read and why you either liked it or disliked it.
  • What activities do you participate in outside of school?
  • Which of these activities are you best at?
  • How would your friends describe you?
  • Discuss one experience you have had that has influenced who you are.

Admission decisions will be based on an evaluation of the above materials.

We will be looking not just at the quality of the applicant, but also which qualified applicants fit the openings we have in each level of our ESL program.
