Solebury School provides an athletic program that offers opportunities for everyone. Our competitive teams, called the Spartans, belong to the Penn-Jersey League and compete against many private, public and parochial schools in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas.
Of Solebury’s 13 competitive sports, several teams have recently won league championships, including our 2015-2016 girls basketball team. The boys basketball team, which plays an impressive independent schedule against regionally and nationally ranked teams, has met with considerable success, and many alumni have gone on to play in college, most recently two seniors from the Class of 2016. But even athletes not dreaming of Division I scholarships enjoy playing on Solebury teams, and every student can find a team to play on.
In addition to our team sports, Solebury offers a wide variety of noncompetitive sports and fitness-oriented activities — from yoga to strength training to rock climbing — that help teens develop healthy, lifelong habits, skills, and interests.
Solebury School's John D. Brown Athletic Center houses a 21,500-square-foot gymnasium, a multipurpose room for wrestling and dance, a fitness center, and an outdoor six-lane running track and athletic field. With these facilities, Solebury hosts track and field events and offers a greater variety of athletic activities.
