Ways of Giving

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is the cornerstone of the fund raising efforts at Solebury School. These gifts provide unrestricted monies raised each year from alumni, parents, friends, faculty, foundations and corporations. The Annual Fund fills the gap that tuition alone cannot cover in providing a Solebury School education. Items strengthened by the Annual Fund include scholarships, faculty salaries, classroom, library and athletic expenses, and many other day-to-day needs of the school.

Capital Campaign

Capital gifts support new and renovated facilities and the endowment. In the past 20 years we have raised over $14 million in gifts for new facilities including a boys’ dormitory, faculty housing, a science and math center, an athletic center and an international center. We have also renovated all classrooms. Current projects on the drawing board include a performing arts center, student center, and improvements to the girls’ dormitory.

Endowment

Gifts to endowment are invested for long term growth and provide funds in perpetuity for the school. A percentage of the income from endowment is transferred each year to the operating budget and provides an ongoing source of revenue for scholarships, faculty salary and development, facilities upkeep, athletics, the library and much more. Over the past 20 years, Solebury’s endowment has grown from just under $100,000 to $4 million in 2007. It is the school’s goal to triple this amount.
