Home and School Association

Fall 2015

Welcome to the Solebury Home and School Association!

The Home and School Association is the sole parent organization at Solebury School. Our main goal is to establish a strong connection between parents and the school, and to enhance our children's experience at Solebury. By getting involved in the Home and School Association, you will help promote school spirit, enrich school programs and activities, make new friendships and gain closer relationships with the faculty and staff of Solebury.

We volunteer our time in a variety of ways, including: planning and organizing the spring dinner auction (save the date: Saturday, April 30, 2016), supporting our student athletes through involvement in the Athletic Boosters Club, helping with school-sponsored events — such as plays, concerts and art shows — and helping to maintain our beautiful campus.

Last year, many parent volunteers got involved and helped accomplish a lot of great things for the Solebury community. Our spring dinner auction was a huge success! We raised over $120,000 thanks to the generosity of parents, faculty, alumni and students, which helped bolster the Annual Fund as well as the Headmaster's Special Trip Fund. Proceeds from our Special Appeal — Creating the Sycamore Patio — will create Solebury's first dedicated outdoor space that, when completed, will include retaining walls, landscaping, a fire pit, seating and more. We all look forward to having an artfully designed outdoor area to take advantage of Solebury's natural beauty.

When your child enrolls at Solebury, you automatically become a member of the Home and School Association and are welcome to join all meetings. We feature a different faculty member each month and one special outside speaker during the year. You'll learn about relevant issues, such as the college hunt, emotional intelligence for teenagers and more. Please watch for the announcements about our meetings in the weekly Parent Ezine. The dates will also appear on the calendar to the right.

We look forward to getting to know you and hope to see you during the year!
