There are lots of places for us to do our work, to be with friends, and to enjoy some downtime on Solebury’s campus. Here’s where we hang:
-
The Quad – In the center of campus, when it’s nice outside, we sit around the picnic tables, on the benches, or on the hill in front of the library to study for a test or do some homework or just to chat and enjoy a little time together. There are often people playing guitar, playing pickle ball, or throwing a Frisbee nearby.
-
The Crib – Our newest addition to the campus is a great lounge with a working gas fireplace. It’s a great place to hang out or do some work. We do lots of things here on the weekends – game nights, s’mores in the outdoor fireplace, and lots of other fun things.
- Dormitory Lounges – You’ll find many boarders playing games, watching a little TV, or just chilling out. This is one of our favorites.
- Library – Between classes, in study hall, or on the weekends, we’re here more than we’d like to admit, but the work has to get done.
- Dining Hall – Our three chefs are great about leaving out snacks to eat. There’s always tea and coffee to drink, and there’s often someone playing the piano.
- The Fitness Center – As long as a teacher is there, we can squeeze in a quick workout during the day, and it’s open in the evenings and on weekends for set hours. Prom is sooner than you think after all.
- The Athletic Center – It’s open for set hours every weekend. We can shoot some hoops, play a little indoor soccer, or work on our dance moves in the dance studio.
- Around campus – There’s no other way to say it, the place is beautiful. There are lots of big, old trees to sit under, there’s the gazebo and swingset by the pond, there’s the big chess set, and there are the huge rolling fields. The views of the neighboring farms are amazing, there are often deer running around campus in the evening, and you wouldn’t believe how many stars you can see at night.
