Building Bridges Through Music
Cool jazz and a collegial atmosphere will be the order of the day when master musicians spend a week working directly with high school students at the Jazz Academy at Solebury School. No auditions are required and all instruments are encouraged, including voice.
Due to its growing popularity, the Jazz Academy will continue to be a one week program. Students from around the Delaware Valley, and including the Creative Arts High School in Camden and the Foundation Academy in Trenton, will be attending.
The program includes master classes, college planning sessions, audition tape preparation, small group seminars, individual lessons and a final concert to raise money for Little Kids Rock, a non-profit that has restored a music curriculum for over 55,000 students in 24 cities. There will also be scheduled down time to give campers a chance to have improv jam sessions and gym time.
