Centennial

On October 1, 2025, Solebury School marked 100 years since our first-ever day of classes. It kicked off a year of celebrating a century of learning and a lifetime of community.
Solebury opened its doors in rented quarters in September 1925 with four boys and four teachers. A year later, the founders purchased our present location, the Michener Farm, and Solebury School has continued to grow ever since.

“...as I carried a platter of roast beef to the table I noticed that we were one piece short. The last person at the table was going to miss out, and that one person short was going to be me. Overwhelmed by hunger, I grabbed a piece of meat for my plate before serving everyone at the table. Bill [Berkeley] saw me, and quite naturally, tossed me out of the dining hall.”
