Interviews will run the month of May, with a mutually agreed upon start date in June or early July 2026.

Essential Functions:
  • Prepare and serve food according to established recipes and procedures within regulatory guidelines
  • Assist with menu planning, food ordering, storage, preparation, and production.
  • Perform set-up activities (i.e. assembling trays and carts, preparing condiments, assembling service lines, stocking utensils and napkins, and retrieving stock)
  • Ensure all food going out for service is appropriately labeled for all allergens and dietary restrictions (i.e. vegan, contains lactose, etc.)
  • Maintain a welcoming attitude towards students, parents, and faculty/staff regarding dining hall offerings.  Alerting the head chef to requests and issues
  • Perform opening, cleanup, and closing activities as scheduled
  • Track waste and other critical cost-sensitive components as required by management
  • Perform regular cleaning of the food service facilities and supervise any contracted cleaning services
  • Identify and resolve food quality/service complaints, alerting the head chef or any issues
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols
  • This role is classified as an essential worker: in the event of a school closure due to inclement weather or other emergency conditions, all designated essential workers are expected to report to campus and fulfill their scheduled responsibilities unless otherwise directed by their immediate supervisor or a member of the school’s leadership team.
  • Supports the School’s summer programs by planning and preparing meals for summer camp participants
  • Provides leadership coverage in the absence of the Head Chef
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in food service production
  • Ability to work and be productive with minimal supervision
  • Maintain ServSafe or comparable certification
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization, parents and volunteers and visitors; must have a customer service orientation
  • Basic computer skills
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Occasionally lift equipment and materials weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Crawl, climb ladders, twist, turn and reach in completing a variety of job duties
  • Work outside in hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time
  • Work in a wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school
  • Work in the extreme temperature and humidity conditions found in a food service kitchen
  • Valid driver’s license required as well as ability to pass a variety of background checks
