Reports To: Tom Wilschutz, Head of School

Solebury School seeks an experienced program manager to help develop and direct a 4 week summer residential program for students entering 9th through 12th grade.  The goal of the program is to help students who are about to begin life at boarding school get ready for the experience that awaits them and develop the skills they need to have a successful and smooth transition. The program will simulate life at boarding school with classes focusing on math and English, after school activities, weekend activities, and residential life programming. 

Essential Functions

  • Build out a program in coordination with the school’s vision and mission, including development of overall schedule, enrollment and implementation process
  • Oversee enrollment and screening process of program, with support from marketing and outreach support provided by the Admissions team
  • Oversee registration and paperwork collection in conjunction with Nurse’s office and Summer Programs Director
  • Communicate with other Solebury School Summer Program leaders, Facilities Team, and Dining Hall to coordinate services
  • Oversee daily staff and program
  • Hire and manage staff and assign activity, evening, and weekend duties as needed
  • Handle parent communications
  • Handle disciplinary issues, etc. that arise

Qualifications
Required

  • Ability to see big picture needs/goals of program
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
  • Good management skills
  • Patience as this experience by definition will be new for all students
  • Several years of teaching experience
  • Be able to lead, while also working as part of a team
     

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and/or directing educational and/or residential programs
  • Work both outside and indoors for extended periods of time
  • Work in a wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school
