Spring 2021 Trimester

March 11, 2021

Dear Families,

The spring trimester is here and with it, a return to concurrent learning at Solebury School that allows for both online and five-day on-campus learning for our students. We achieved great success with this approach during our fall trimester and are so pleased that a commitment to wellness by the community, falling infection rates, and access to vaccines on the horizon make it possible for us to return to campus for those who are able to do so.

Our Task Force continues to focus on three guideposts as we plan this school year. We’ve prioritized:

  • the safety of everyone in the community, relying on credible resources and data;
  • a strong educational program, regardless of whether in-person or from a distance, or a combination of the two; and
  • nurturing individuals and groups through both in-person and online activities and opportunities to connect and grow as a community.

For every student, family, faculty, and staff member, we ask that you follow the Community Commitment to keep you and our community protected—complete the daily symptom screenings in REACH and monitor your health, wear a face covering (properly!) and practice physical distancing, limit your exposure by limiting your travels as much as is practicable at this time. When each of us does our part, we build a healthy community that is based on taking action to help someone else.

The information that you’ll need for the start of school is outlined within these pages—and if there’s something you’re unsure about, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Administrators, members of the Task Force, faculty and staff are all here to help our families navigate this year successfully.

See you all on March 16, either in-person or online. I can’t wait.

Yours from campus,

Tom
