Activities
Campers participate in various activities each day on our beautiful, 140-acre campus. Every year we strive to provide activities based on camper preference. Some activities might include:
Swimming: Campers swim daily in Solebury's solar-heated outdoor pool. Like everything else at Solebury, this activity is a combination of instruction (from basic swimming to junior lifesaving) and play (free swim, pool games, and diving). The pool is always staffed by certified lifeguards.
Sports: Sports: We believe children should be allowed to be children and that sports should be fun! Some instruction in such sports as soccer, wiffleball, and basketball will be combined with games new and old. Some examples of this are Capture the Flag, Kick the Cone and the always popular, Red Rover!
Art: We let kids' imaginations run wild! Campers learn to draw, paint, sculpt—but mainly, they learn to have fun with art!
Flex: This activity sometimes has campers working together as they learn how to problem-solve as a team, sometimes they will be doing individual activities such as making friendship bracelets and sometimes they will get a voice in what they’d like to do that period. This is why it’s called “Flex”! It’s flexible in terms of what they do and how they choose to do it!
2025 Weekly Themes
Week 1-Get ready for the most Wet and Wacky Week of summer! Campers will dive headfirst into a splashing good time with water-themed activities all week long. From thrilling water balloon fights and epic water relays there’s no shortage of wet fun. Whether it’s water dodgeball in the pool, underwater hockey or jumping around in our sprinklers, the week will be filled with laughter, friendly competition, and, of course, getting drenched! It's a non-stop splashfest that will keep everyone wet, wild, and happy all week long.
Week 2-Week Two at camp is our Carnival week! This classic camp event is being brought back by popular demand! Our old-school camp carnival will include games, inflatables, face painting and more! This event happens on Friday afternoon of this week.
Week 3-Get ready for an unforgettable time during Special Guests Week! During the week we will welcome exciting guests to share their talents and wonders with our campers. Past guests have included everything from magicians to fascinating animals, and this year promises even more surprises! Don’t miss out on this week of unforgettable experiences and new memories!
Week 4-Solebury’s Got Talent is one of the highlights of the summer! It's a time for campers to showcase their unique skills and creativity. Whether they're singing, dancing, performing magic tricks, or telling jokes, everyone has a chance to shine on stage. Campers get to cheer each other on, build confidence, and have fun while celebrating their talents. It’s a week filled with laughter, applause, and unforgettable moments that bring the whole camp community together!
Week 5-The Great Camp-In! On Friday night, campers in Groups 4-7 can stay at camp all day and through the evening until 10 PM. Dinner, games, scavenger hunts, movies, campfires, s'mores, and more make for a memorable evening. Camp at its finest! The younger groups who are too young to stay the extra time will have an opportunity during the week to enjoy campfires and s’mores as well!
Week 6-Get ready for an unforgettable Spirit Week at Camp! This week is packed with fun, excitement, and friendly competition as campers come together to show their spirit and creativity. Get into the team spirit with Group Matching Day, where every group dresses in the same colors or theme to showcase their unity. The last two days of Camp are intense as the campers are broken up into two teams for the Camp Olympics, where teams battle it out in a series of thrilling challenges, leading to an All-Camp Relay. Spirit Week at Solebury Day Camp is the perfect way to close out the summer with the same excitement we started with!
Our Staff
Our staff includes teachers, counselors, and a camp nurse. The staff is handpicked by the Camp Co-Directors Julie Laing and Leila Crooks, who have been with Solebury School Day Camp for a combined 21 years. We select counselors who share our love of children and who are dedicated to providing them with a fun and educational summer. Most of our staff have been with the camp since they were campers!
Extra Services for Today's Busy Families
To make our parents' summers as enjoyable and stress-free as your children's...
Food is included. We provide the campers with a hot and cold lunch (several choices) and two snacks every day. We are a peanut-free camp . We offer a range of options for children including vegetarian and non-vegetarian entrees, an extensive salad and sandwich bar, sunflower butter and jelly sandwiches (the campers who like PB&J love it), and a variety of fresh fruit. Morning fruit-based snack and afternoon ice cream/popsicles provided!
Aftercare is an option. We offer afternoon care until 5:30 p.m. for an additional $30 per day or $135 per child per week. You can pay for this service up front if you know how often you will be using it, or you may use it on an as-needed basis and pay throughout the summer.
A Flexible Enrollment Policy. We allow families to enroll from just one week through six weeks of camp. We have a core group of campers (80 or so) who are here for all six weeks, and we have lots of families who include us as a portion of their summer plans.
The registration fee includes all activities and trips, insurance, materials, lunch and snacks, and a T-shirt for each child. A deposit of $100 per week for each camper is due with registration. All camp payments are due May 1, 2025. Any camper that is not paid in full forfeits their deposit and will lose their spot in camp.

- Full registration refunds minus $125 deposit will be granted up to May 1
- Withdrawal from camp between May 2-May 15: 75% fee returned
- Withdrawal from camp between May 15-June 15: 50% fee returned
