Welcome From the Head of School

Welcome to Solebury School! Since its founding in 1925, Solebury has stayed true to the founders’ vision of being an authentically inclusive school where learning is rigorous, relevant, and joyful. What started as a school of only four students and teachers has become the school we know and love today. 

As the 9th Head of School, I am honored to lead a community that believes deeply in the transformative power of education. Solebury is a place where intellectual curiosity is celebrated, where creativity is woven into daily life, and where every student is known and valued as an individual. Here, learning is a partnership. Students are encouraged to question, create, stretch, and imagine. They are supported by adults who see their potential and challenge them to rise to it.

At Solebury, we don’t believe education should be one-size-fits-all. We believe that young people learn best when they feel known, respected, and supported. Students are not expected to fit a mold; they are encouraged to discover who they are and how they learn best. Our classrooms are spaces where students are freely able to take intellectual risks and pursue ideas that matter to them. Our dorms create opportunities for students from around the region, country, and world to come together and learn from and about each other. Our campus is a place where creativity is visible everywhere and where diversity is celebrated. We are intentional about preparing students for what comes next, allowing our graduates to leave here not only ready for the world beyond Solebury but prepared to contribute to it in meaningful ways.
