Community Life

Updated 1/14/21

A key part of the Solebury School experience is the sense of community we foster outside of the classroom. Learning at Solebury goes beyond the academic day and we are committed to providing a rich, engaged community life for all of our students, whether in-person or remote. Throughout the winter trimester, we are conducting remote engagement events that allow students to get to know one another, as well as parents. Information on these events, and details on how to participate, are available through email, on our school calendar, as well as by logging into the Parent Portal. Download/view our winter activities schedule for students here. Afterschool Athletics and Activities, such as Basketball, SLAM, yearbook, and others, continue to be required for student participation virtually.

During 2020-21 school year, some ways we will nurture our community of students and adults will include:

After-school activities
Arts - visual and performing
Clubs & affinity groups
Community Service
Grade Level Events
Home and School Association
Peer-led activities for students
School Traditions such as Convocation, May Day, Parents Day
Weekend “Calls with Tom”
and much more

A special note about Athletics

Solebury remains committed to offering winter sports five days a week and providing students robust opportunities for training, skill development, team building, and physical activity through an all remote format. Winter athletics will focus on conditioning and skill acquisition.

At this time, our plans for the spring interscholastic season have not changed. As the season approaches, we will make the determination while giving the highest priority to the health and safety of our community.
