Biography

Greg Lipscomb is the Director of Instrumental Ensemble, teaches music electives, and organizes private music lessons. An accomplished musician/singer, he performs professionally through out the eastcoast.

Greg is one of the founding members of Avalare Strings, Philadelphia's Rock string quartet. He is their violist, vocalist and musical arranger. His solo CD recordings have been played on radio stations throughout Costa Rica and his most recent, "Living My Life" on XPN in the Philadelphia area.

Though classically trained, Greg grew up listening to the gospel, soul and R&B sounds of his early days. Consequentially he has enjoyed performances as an orchestral and studio violist with such artists as Patti La Belle and Smokey Robinson. As a vocal soloist he has performed in France and Switzerland under the baton of Mislav Rostropovich, and in Japan under Yutaka Sado.

Greg holds a masters from The Peabody Institute of Music, where he was the recipient of the George Castelle Award.
