Biography

I arrived at Solebury School in 2005. Prior to arriving at Solebury, I was a professional tile and mosaic designer for 16 years. I worked on commissions primarily for local organizations and private clients, but also found myself with several commissions for Carnegie Mellon University and even one for an Arab emirate. I worked for the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works, where I learned the art of making tile before striking out on my own. Teaching has always been an aspect of my work, I was the artist in residence at several New Jersey and Pennsylvania schools; and offered private classes in my studio. I continue to produce tile on a limited basis and work on making art in my free time.

I really enjoy helping kids find their passions. I love when my students have the “a-ha” moment and the world makes a little more sense. I love helping them to learn from their mistakes. Solebury gives me the freedom to follow my students’ passions and arrange my classes to support my kids. To be in a place that prizes creativity and that views art as a key component of a full and robust education is a gift.
