Biography

My love for Solebury School begins with the students. I am amazed — on a daily basis — by how willing our students are to engage in activities, dig into the readings, and simply have fun. They are also masters of transition, shifting easily from a variety of activities, from group work to class-wide discussions to silent reflection, never missing a beat. I also appreciate that Solebury allows me to pursue all of my academic interests, rather than confining me into one specific discipline, such as history, English, and ESL.

When I'm on weekend duty, I love going to see movies with the boarding students and heading outdoors. Last year, we took a horseback riding trip that was a huge success. I also like hanging out in the dorm and watching sports with students.

In my downtime, I enjoy reading historical fiction, walking my two dogs (black labs), wandering in the Wissahickon, watching my son play sports (his senior year!), and just sitting out back, staring into the woods, chatting with my wife.

Professional Development: In summer 2018, I participated in an AP US History Summer Institute; summer (2017), I was part of the Summer Educators Institute at the National Constitution Center.
