Meet the Artists
Gabe Parsons '19
This fall, singer/songwriter Gabe Parsons '19 released his first full-length album, Beyond the Seas, available on Spotify and iTunes. One of the first songs completed ("Was It Just Yesterday?") was recorded at MorningStar Studios during a Solebury School field trip; Gabe later returned to MorningStar to complete the album on his own. At the Young Artist Series concert, Gabe will perform songs from Beyond the Seas.
A member of Solebury's Rock Band and Jazz Roots Ensemble, Gabe plays guitar, piano, bass, drums, mandolin, and ukulele. He has also performed for Coffeehouse and Crib Notes concerts at Solebury. This January, Gabe was honored to win a prestigious Solebury Founders Award, the Karline Holmquist Academic Award for Performing Arts. In college, he plans to study music production and sound engineering and plans to continue writing and performing music.
Anna Schmidt '20
Anna has played the piano for about nine years. In addition to her work at Solebury, she's taken lessons from Adrienne Walsh of Canal Music Studios, and more recently, lessons from Elisha Abas in New York City. About two years ago, Anna started teaching piano, as well.
She has been a part of and performed with Solebury's Universal Music Ensemble and Elite Ensemble, and she has taken the stage at multiple Coffeehouse concerts and a Crib Notes concert. Anna has experience with chamber music, playing with an orchestra, and playing duets or in groups with her classmates. While she doesn't plan to major in music, she will continue playing in college and beyond.
At the Young Artist Series concert, she will play music from artists such as Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy, and Clementi.
