Senior Project

In the final three weeks of school, Solebury School seniors have the opportunity to gain real-world experience while working as apprentices, conducting independent research, or pursuing creative projects.

With the support of the senior project advisory committee, students approach prospective mentors and arrange the details of their senior projects. At the conclusion of the three weeks, students give presentations on what they learned to an audience of faculty and parents.

In May 2018, our students spent their senior projects interning for businesses such as the Bristol Riverside Theater, Willowbridge Associates (a hedge fund), and the Trenton Thunder baseball organization. They volunteered for non-profits like the Billion Oysters Project, the National Museum for Industrial History, and Spring Reins of Life. One senior shadowed a veterinarian from the Alpha Veterinary Care, sitting in on routine check-ups, animal surgeries, and attending house calls for larger animals.

In May 2017, Vikki Rueda-Juarez '17, shown above (left), shadowed a doctor at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Budding filmmaker George O'Connor '17 spent his senior project shooting and editing a promotional video for Solebury School that happens to explain what senior project is.
