Meet Solebury School alumni who are making waves in their respective fields and schools.

Cooper McKim '12
After Solebury, Cooper received his BA in Environmental Policy and American Studies with a minor in Music at Tufts University. He graduated early to start working for a National Public Radio affiliate in South Carolina covering flooding. Now, Cooper covers energy and natural resources at Wyoming Public Radio and is also a part of NPR's Energy and Environment Team.

Alliyah Allen '14
Based in Newark, NJ, Alliyah co-founded LAND Collective, a visual art collective that supports local artists and is a Program Coordinator for New Arts Justice at Express Newark and an Assistant Curator of Monument Lab. She graduated from Haverford College in 2018.

 

Beatrice Becette '12
As a producer for National Geographic, Beatrice writes, produces, edits, and develops content for TV. She also hosts a Nat Geo Kids educational series called Kids vs Plastic. She graduated from American University in 2016.

Keziah Groth-Tuft '13
Having recently completed a one-year LL.M (Masters of Law) in the Human Rights and the Environment program at Lancaster University, Keziah is now working toward a JD at the George Washington University Law School.
 

 

Alexandra Leone '14
At Yale University, Alex is majoring in political science and fulfilling a concentration in gender studies. She piloted her Teach2Serve capstone project at a local magnet school in New Haven for a semester.


 

Athena Lin '07
This former Solebury School ESL student is now one of just 50 female pilots out of 1200 for EVA Air. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and holds a Certification of Engineer in Training from NCEES.
 


Claire Maloney '15
At Solebury School, Claire kickstarted a program “Don’t Conceal to Heal” to help destigmatize mental health conditions. She then took her idea and ran with it at Dickinson College.

 


Zonia Rueda '15
A biology major at Ursinus College, Zonia has conducted research on HIV and its effects on brain immune cells, and presented her research at the University of Pennsylvania and in Harrisburg. Zonia is also a Resident Advisor and a Senior Fellow for Ursinus College Admissions.

 

Jack Sapoch '14
At Bates College, Jack is majoring in politics and has earned multiple grants to travel to Eastern Europe to conduct thesis research on the interactions of the European Union and NGOs (non-governmental organizations) while assisting refugees in Serbia.

 

Anders Simpson-Wolf '09
At Tufts University, Anders earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics and later his M.S. in Electrical Engineering, also from Tufts. Today, he is a senior analyst at Cogo Labs, a start-up incubator/big data company that has spawned more than a dozen new online companies.

 

Jonathan Tetelman '07
Opera singer Jon Tetelman has been around the world and back for his work as one of the industry’s most sought-after tenors.

 

Phil Walker '11
A graduate of Morehouse College, Phil is studying neuroscience and completing a dual-degree program at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine. He is also president of the class of 2020.

 

Carol Wright '16
At American University, Carol is majoring in journalism and minoring in business and entertainment while juggling her work as editor of Nyota Magazine, the business that she hatched through Solebury's Teach2Serve program. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in marketing.

 

Junhua (Richard) Wu '13
Richard completed our ESL program a year early and went on to graduate from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration a semester early. After graduation, he moved to New York City to work for a real estate company with a $2 billion portfolio.

 

Ju Sung (Bobby) Yoon '05
Bobby owns and runs a popular restaurant in New York City called Yoon Haeundae Galbi. The restaurant features many of his family's treasured recipes and has won raves from critics.
