Dinner Auction 2018: A Gatsby Gala

May 4, 2018

This year's auction was a roaring success, raising nearly $100,000 to benefit Solebury School, not counting a generous match for our Special Appeal effort toward a new lighting system in the Barn Theater!

We're thrilled to share that the lighting system was installed right after the 2017-18 school year ended, just before the opening day of our StarCatchers Summer Theater and Theater Tech Camps. The rest of the auction funds raised were allocated to the Home and School Association's 2018-19 grant-making fund, The Head's Fund for Student Trips (which provides financial aid for those who want to participate in our spring break trips), Solebury School's Annual Fund, and much more.

We have our community to thank, from our brilliant auction chair Karen Waldon P'19 to all of our tireless parent volunteers, including the Home and School Association's Auction Committee. A long of list of faculty, staff, and student volunteers also pitched in, including hosts Erik Daughterman '18 and Lakumi Dias '18 (shown above), who welcomed our guests and assisted during the live auction. The auction's live entertainment was provided by talented pianists Anna Schmidt '20 and Kevin Zhou '20, and cellist Owen Graham '20.

Our 200 guests enjoyed fabulous food, cocktails, and a moonlit view of the Delaware River from our venue, the Lambertville Station's Riverside Ballroom. Check out photos below from the big night. We loved how our guests and their snappy attire embraced this year's 1920s theme!

To every supporter of this auction — parents, alumni, students, local businesses, faculty, and staff — we are profoundly grateful!
