Dates to Know

April 3: Accepted Students Day (Meet teachers, current students, and other new families!)

April 10: Deadline to enroll. After this date, we will offer admission to those on our waiting list.

Mid-May: The 2019-2020 Academic Bulletin and the 2019-2020 course selection forms — Fall Trimester Course Selection Form, Winter Trimester Course Selection Form, and the Spring Course Selection Form — are released (see more on this below)

May 21: Webinar for new 9th grade families (4:00-5:00pm)

June 21: Back-to-school forms are posted on the website

June 24: Summer programs begin

July 8: Course selections are due

August 1: Back-to-school forms are due

August 25: New family / student gathering on campus

August 26: Fall pre-season sports begin

September 2: New international students arrive, dorms open

September 3: Registration and orientation for new boarding students and families

September 4: Registration and orientation for new day students and families

September 5: First day of classes

September 13: Fri-Sat overnight trip for 9th graders (Friday day trips for 10th-12th graders)

September 19: New parent welcome reception at the Headmaster's house (6:30-8:30pm)

September 26: 9th grade orientation for parents (7:00-9:00pm)

October 11: Parents Day (no classes)
 

FAQs

When do we choose fall classes?

Here is the 2019-20 Academic Bulletin for referencing classes and the Fall Trimester Course Selection Form, the Winter Course Selection Form, and the Spring Trimester Course Selection Form. Our May 21 webinar for new 9th grade families will help answer any questions you may have about choosing courses for the 2019-20 school year.

Course selection forms aren't due until Monday, July 8. If you'd like, Director of Studies Rick Tony would be happy to meet with you and your student to select courses for the 2019-20 school year. Please contact him at rtony@solebury.org or 215.862.5261; he'll be available to meet you in mid to late June after helping to ensure a successful close to the current school year.

When do we choose fall sports and activities?

One of our back-to-school forms (posted in the Parent Portal by June 21) is our Sports and Activities Sign-Up Form. At that time, we'll share a letter of instructions from Director of Athletics Rob Eichem P'18, as well as a directory of Sports and Activities Descriptions. After you've reviewed them, you'll note your choices in the Parent Portal with the rest of the back-to-school forms. 

 

When will summer reading lists and assignments be posted?

Go to solebury.org/summerwork — the page will be updated in June with all summer 2019 assignments.

When will school supply lists be posted?

Each teacher will share their own supply lists during the first week of school.

Will my child need a laptop?

We ask that all students come to school with a device (not just a smartphone). Please review Solebury School's Individual Device Policy, which lists the minimum requirements and some recommended devices. If you any questions, please email studenttech@solebury.org.

Where will my boarding student stay during fall sports pre-season, before the dorms are open?

While Solebury School's dorms won't be open for pre-season, Rob Eichem P'18, Director of Athletics, will arrange for any boarding students participating in fall sports pre-season to stay with another athlete's family.

How do I arrange for daily transportation for my day student?

There are three options for daily transportation to Solebury School. Please view them here and complete this form and mail it to: Business Office, Solebury School, 6832 Phillips Mill Road, New Hope, PA 18938. Or, scan and email the completed form to businessoffice@solebury.org. Thank you!

When will my student receive a solebury.org email address?

New students will receive their solebury.org email addresses in person at Registration and Orientation on September 3 and 4. Rest assured, they won't need it until then.
