Volunteering for Solebury

The Home & School Association offers a variety of opportunities for you to get involved and volunteer your time to support the Solebury School community.

By helping out on any of the following committees, you are sure to meet other parents, make new friends, get better acquainted with our wonderful faculty and staff and help make Solebury the best school it can be.

There is sure to be a committee that you will find appealing. To fit each parent’s busy schedule, you can be involved as little or as much as you'd like. Any amount of involvement is appreciated, and there is no membership fee.

Please take the time to review the descriptions of volunteer opportunities and email the contact person listed if interested.

Hope you will join us!

Annual Auction

Annual Auction

The Annual Auction is the Home & School Association’s largest fundraiser, bringing in more than $100,000 for educational programming, student activities and facility improvements at the School. Proceeds from the Special Appeal at previous auctions have provided funds to create the IDEA Lab, refurbish our Black Box Theater, upgrade and equip our Visual Arts spaces, and improve the dining hall, among other projects. This event brings so much of the Solebury community together to support the School and, most importantly, our children.

Auction planning begins in the fall and continues throughout the year. There are many ways to get involved, from decorating and designing to data entry and acquisitions. No amount of time is too small – join us for a few hours or head up a committee! We would love to you join us. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact our Auction Chair, Tia Cavallaro P'21.

Athletic Booster Association

Solebury Athletic Booster Association

Solebury School has a rich tradition of academic and athletic excellence. The Solebury School Athletic Booster Club members believe that academics and athletics go hand in hand for the success of our children. The Booster Club is dedicated to the continued support of our student athletes, coaching staff, trainers, and athletic programs.

Our Mission

The mission of the Solebury School Booster Club is to:

  • Support athletic and academic excellence in all student athletes
  • Promote active and involved parent and community leadership
  • Promote sportsmanship and provide supplementary financial support to all Solebury School athletic teams
  • Maintain our Spartan history and tradition of excellence, which exemplifies our student athletes, coaches, trainers and teams.

In addition, the Booster Club will work with administration, teachers, staff, parents, coaches and student athletes to identify areas of need within the athletic department. In this way we hope to assist in the continued development and support of our Athletic Program.

Who Can Belong to the Booster Club?

The booster club is open to all interested parents, teachers, coaches and staff. Please help us by becoming a representative from your team. It is our hope to have representatives from all sports at Solebury School.

For more information, please contact Athletic Director Rob Eichem or our Parent Relations Manager, Christine Thiel.

Friends of Solebury Visual Arts

Friends of Solebury Visual Arts

In the Solebury Art Department, our talented students spend hours creating unique, beautiful works of art. The mission of the Friends of Solebury Visual Arts is to make these wonderful student pieces more visible throughout the campus. We assist the Arts Department with framing, canvas stretching, preparing art boards and exhibiting student artwork around campus. Please consider joining and helping out with art shows and other special events throughout the school year.

For more information and to get involved, please contact Lori Lipsky P'21 and Mike Lipsky P'21.

Beautification Team

Beautification Team

Solebury School is especially known for its beautiful campus in charming Bucks County, Pennsylvania. To maintain the campus, the Home & School Association has offered to assist the school’s maintenance department by helping with gardening and light improvements like painting.

We annually plant fall mums and spring bulbs, assist in fall and spring cleanup, decorate for Open Houses and beautify the campus for Graduation. Some of the special projects we have completed include: the lovely stone half wall in front of the Dining Hall, the stone pathway and planting bed behind Administration Building, refurbished Theater dressing rooms, the landscaping outside of the Girl’s Dorm, and more.

If you enjoy outside work and want to get involved in maintaining our beautiful campus, please contact Marie Kohles P'23Lisa Cook P'22 or Barb Picard P'21.

Helping Hands Team

The Helping Hands Team offers assistance to Solebury families when special needs arise, such as illness or family emergencies. Once the coordinators become aware of a situation, they rally a group of parent volunteers that will offer their help in any way they can, such as providing meals, or rides for the student.

Since families in emergency situations don’t always have the time to seek help, anyone in the Solebury community is welcome to contact our Parent Relations Manager, Christine Thiel, if they know of a family who could use a Helping Hand. Solebury School is a great community of students, faculty, administrators and parents, and knowing that a Helping Hand is available in a time of need can be reassuring and comforting. We also understand that families may want their privacy in these situations, so our work will be discreet and confidential.

If you become aware of a family in need of help or having an emergency please contact our Parent Relations Manager, Christine Thiel.

Friends of the Theater

Our incredibly talented students and staff put on three fantastic plays each school year, including a lavish musical in the winter trimester. The Home & School Association supports the theater program by running the box office, the concession stand before the shows and during intermission, Kiss the Cast, and some meals during the last weeks of rehearsals.

For more information and to get involved, please contact Saba Siddiqui P'20, Andy Wander P'20, or Steve and Sarah Kelleher P'23

Hospitality Team

The Hospitality Team supports school events, including Parents Days in the fall and the spring, Cookies and Carols in December, and a teacher appreciation luncheon at the end of the year. These events are a great opportunity to get to know the teachers and enhance our sense of community.

If you are interested in joining the hospitality team, please contact parent coordinators Meredith Borine P'21 or Trish Onzik P'22.
