Solebury School
Arts Concentration
Rising 10th and 11th grade students may pursue a concentration in Fine Arts with a focus in a specific area of interest.
This concentration aims to recognize and celebrate students who delve deeply into one or more areas in Visual Art, Performing Art, or Creative Writing. Since we also value diversity in experience and breadth in studies, students will also need to complete classes related to but not specifically within their focus. For instance, a student pursuing an Arts Concentration with a focus in Acting may also be asked to complete coursework in Creative Writing or Dance. These specific courses will be determined collaboratively by the student, their advisor and the coordinator of this concentration.
Note that in some disciplines, students would need to qualify for admission to the Arts Concentration, for instance with an audition or through a review of their work. That determination will be made on a case-by-case basis by the Arts Concentration Coordinator.
